Update, a Lot Late (with pictures now)

November 16th, 2009 by holly · 7 Comments

Lindsey is almost 8 weeks old, and doing very well! She is a quiet little girl–thoughtful it seems. She has dark eyes, though they are a definite blue, at least for now. She has kind of a pudgy nose, a beautiful bald (almost) head :), and a cute smile that we’re seeing a little more of now. She has that baby skin on her baby neck that needs a lot of kissing, and little hands and wrists (at least compared to our other babies). Since it’s colder now she is wrapped up a lot in her blankets. She is very tall. Lindsey likes being protected, and even though she is more used to it now, Rachel’s love and affection is overwhelming to her.

She is sleeping well for nap time and nighttime. She’ll go back down after her night feeding pretty well–I guess that is all you can ask at this age, right?  It’s just nice to have her get older so she can hold her head up in the car better and get a little faster at drinking her bottle. Halloween was fun. Lindsey was a lamb and Rachel was a kitten. Our neighborhood had so many people “not participating” for Trick-or-Treating–it was kind of sad, but the kids got the experience. It was cold comfort, but at least it wasn’t snowing like I remember so many Halloweens in Utah! Dad and Mom’s visit was wonderful, and we really appreciated and enjoyed their being there with us for Lindsey and through the kids’ Fall break!

The rest of us are fine. We had the flu shots. Janelle had the flu anyway (I know this happens sometimes, but I think it was less severe). None of the rest of us have had it. Whew! The kids are fine. They are doing their jobs and homework well, reading, making up games and playing together, and when they can watching a movie on Netflix’s instant download. It’s kind of funny. We have this nice, kind of large TV, but they would rather crowd around the 17″ computer screen to watch one of the movies that Netflix makes available in a cramped corner of the room with too few chairs.

Scott has been incredibly busy. There have been several things contributing to the feeling that we’re too busy! He comes home later, has the parenting class and YM two nights of the week until even later, and has been planning a poster for the ABCT (Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapists) conference in NYC next week. Building ties with some people out there is going to be a good thing. This semester brought the fantastic news that Scott is being awarded a Distinguished Teacher of Freshmen award! He has always been an exceptionally good teacher in my opinion. He is entertaining, genuine, and effective among other things, and it feels great for him to be appreciated like that! It comes during a hard semester.

It’s good to read your posts and I hope we’ll do a better job of sharing! We love you!

This is Lindsey just this week!

Lindsey kind of looks like she should belong to Jenny.

I find that very funny that you would say that, Renee. I have thought that myself. I ask myself why I have a skinny, blue-eyed child, and why does she look like Jenny, herself? THen I tell myself it’s just my mind playing tricks since we named her Lindsey Corrin after Jenny. Maybe she really does!

She is a doll Holly! Thanks for showing some pictures of your little angel. I have really been wanting to call and talk but mornings are usually a little crazy for me… hopefully some morning will work so we can actually talk. :) Love you!

I tell you…it’s all in the namesake. She doesn’t quite fit into the Jensen mold, at least not yet. Although Brian immediately said she looks like Derek.

She is so adorable though, HOlly. It’s good to see a picture of her. And Racheal sure looks cute in her costuem. Pictures just say so much, don’t they?

    Happy thanksgiving everyone!!
